2009 A Year in Review
admin March 17th, 2010

- 2009 proved to be a very rewarding and challenging year for my first year as a wood turner.
- In August 2009 I was encouraged to join the American Association of Wood turners and have listed 6 pieces on the prestigious website which has a viewing of over 30,000 people world wide.
- In September 2009 4 pieces were entered in the 30th Annual Ontario Wood Carvers Show and I was fortunate to win 4 Honorable mentions and a 1st Prize in the Bowl/Platter Category.
- In December 2009 a 1st and 3rd Prize in the Toronto Wood turners Guild Annual Competition were awarded to 2 of my pieces.
- In January & February 2010 Art for All Canada requested 12 pieces for a gallery in down town Toronto.
- A number of galleries have expressed a keen interest in carrying my work, notably Gallery 767 in Tweed Ontario has sold 4 pieces and Meta 4 Gallery in Port Perry will be taking a large number of pieces for sale.
- I was also delighted to be commissioned to make a board game “Tigers and Goats ” for a friend which was made from Walnut and Maple 18″ x 18″ x 1″ Thick.
Many of my pieces were sold privately to fiends and associates.
Thank you all very much for your support and inspiration.
A large number of new works have been added to my new Gallery 3 and the work continues .
