2012 Update

admin August 14th, 2012

This year has started off rather slowly…the market for sales seems very soft so sales of my works is slow. As a result I have not been pushing very hard to produce new items. I have been doing a lot of planning and prepping of segmented bowls which are a great deal of fun.

Entered the WGO Annual Salon and had a real shocker when I won 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize in the Bowl and Platters category.

I recently uploaded some of my platter images to a well read website Wild Over Wood which is well read by all the wood turners in North America and received some wonderful accolades and very inspiring comments. As a result I was invited by the American Association of Wood Turners to submit some images for their Quarterly Magazine. A few months after (I had forgot all about it) I received the magazine with a 2 page editorial of my work. That was very motivating for me to pursue new ideas. See the new segmented bowls done this year in the Gallery section.

  • 2009 proved to be a very rewarding and challenging year for my first year as a wood turner.
  • In August 2009 I was encouraged to join the American Association of Wood turners and have listed 6 pieces on the prestigious website which has a viewing of over 30,000 people world wide.

  • In January & February 2010 Art for All Canada requested 12 pieces for a gallery in down town Toronto.
  • A number of galleries have expressed a keen interest in carrying my work, notably Gallery 767 in Tweed Ontario has sold 4 pieces and Meta 4 Gallery in Port Perry will be taking a large number of pieces for sale.
